Overhearing An Exchange

Yesterday I was in a store in a ritzy-ish part of town running an errand (buying a new shirt) when I saw this well-heeled, personal trainer bodied, hot trophy soccer MILF with her little boy. He had to be maybe three. She was a couple steps ahead of him when out of the blue I heard him say, “You’re a stupid mom.” Again, this kid was probably three.

I was a little stunned to hear a kid say that out of the blue and would have strangled the kid if he was mine, but her reaction was even more stunning. She said, “Oh Matthew [or whatever], you know Santa Claus is listening and he just took a present away from you.” Then they just kept walking around, with him being a little shit and her acting like it was completely normal.

WTF. This little bastard is going to have everything handed to him in life, he’s going to appreciate none of it, and when he turns into a 20-something 7 years in college fuck-up who’s still still sucking on his momma’s teet she’s going to brag about what a fine young man he’s grown up to be.

Between the rich kids pushing their parents around and the poor kids who generally don’t have parents around, my kids’ generation is f-u-c-k-e-d. It really scares me to think what this country is going to be like in 50 years. Thank god I’ll be dead by then (or pretty damn close to it).

Good thing we have Obama to save us, I guess.

This is an issue I have with schools dumbing things down and parents coddling kids and letting bad behavior slide. They do the kids no favors, and believe me, they pay dearly when they get older and are unemployable and friendless (except for losers like themselves) because no sane adult will put up with their crap.

By the time they hit high school, it really is the ones who work hard who will do well in life. Our daughter understood this and works like a trojan. We’re trying to drill it into our youngest that he needs to get off his behind and study, study, study! I will NOT ask his teachers for favors because he’s lazy. Kids who aren’t held accountable and who have everything handed to them appreciate nothing and don’t know the value of anything, because they don’t work for what they have.

They end up like my 35 year old cousin, who literally isn’t fit to drive a bus, and whose mama handed him everything without him having to work for a bit of it. At first, it was cool, to have better stuff than most of his friends and relatives, and people who had been working for years. But now, his self esteem is in the gutter, and because he’s had it so easy all his life, he lacks the balls to tell mama to shove it, and can’t figure a way out of the mess he’s in without some pain. He doesn’t do pain, or sweat, or hard work.

I’m also glad I won’t be around when the shit hits the fan, though I do worry about my kids.

I saw that same mom and her kid yesterday at the Wendy’s play land. The gross, screeching little pecker actually pulled out his little pecker and pissed all over the stairs and down the slide. I only know this because as my kids and i were seated eating our nuggets, my 4 year old pointed to him and said, “momma that boy just peed on the slide.”

Then the little creepy kid started screaming and whaling and standing there at the top of the slide and I got up and asked people seating if that was their little boy. The mom in her dolphin shorts, 200 dollar nikes, down puffy vest and mom hair tucked behind a hat got up and said, “Ooh, he’s mine, what’s wrong?” I said, “He just urinated down the slide and now he’s crying”.

So she goes to her screaming kid and yells up the slide, “Fergus, come down baby, it’s just an accident, it’s okay sweetie, Mommy will fix it, it’s okay Fergus it was an ACCIDENT!”

Uh no, an accident is pissing your pants, not pulling out your pecker and pissing down the slide! Whatevs. Anyway a mentally challenged guy came over and wiped down the slide for her and she got her kid down, then said, “Would a sundae make you feel better Fergus?”

    UGH!

gross on both accounts… although I can’t really say that economic status has everything to do with both cases as I’ve seen plenty of lower-end-economic people with idiot kids as well. And yes, Obama will fix it all.
