It’s analysis week here on the ranch.
I watched the V.P. debate last night, even though there’s no way I will ever vote for John McCain or Barack Obama because of their willingness to rape my wallet to score political points while telling me they’re saving me. But I was interested to see how it went.
Until I realized that the debate was total bullshit. Two people stood up there and talked about two other people for an hour and a half, and lied about pretty much everything the entire time.
What’s really disheartening is that there are people who watched and thought someone “won” the debate. The fact of the matter is that regardless of who won the debate, we the people of the United States are going to be the big losers after this election.
And to compound that, people who consider themselves educated actually think someone who will be president, whether that someone has a (D) or a (R) next to his name, will be worthy of the title. Goes to show you that even the educated are idiots.
If the weakness of our presidential (and vice presidential) timber weren’t so maddeningly frustrating it’d be sorrowfully depressing.
P.S. Regardless of all the bullshit she spun, Sarah Palin did not come off as a blubber eating eskimo idiot last night, which makes me believe that the interviews she did with Katie Couric (and to a lesser extent Charlie Gibson) were edited to make her appear as such. Shocking.
