I’m not a big coffee drinker, but once or twice a week I’ll stop for a cup on my way to work. And I’ve found that 7-11 100% Columbian does a nice job of cleaning out the pipes, if you know what I’m saying. Anyway, I was taking a swig and it struck me how my OCD even haunts me when it comes to drinking a dumb cup of coffee. To wit:

Yes, it is true. I subconsciously make sure the label on the heat shield sleeve thing lines up with the label on the cup. For the first time I think I’ve scared myself.
makes perfect sense to me…
I get Tim Horton’s, and I have to have the sleeve seam/flap under my thumb. I cannot have it under my fingers. So I’m with you all the way on heat shield ergonomics (sounds like we should apply at NASA, eh?).
And ITA, coffee is a very fine pipecleaner.
I do the same thing sort of, except I have to have the lid lined up properly. The little hole that you drink out of has to be centered over the picture or whatever is printed on the cup. And then that little drip of liquid that remains on the lid after you take a sip (it happens on pop and beer cans too) has to be cleaned off as politely as possible with my tongue. I think most people are freaky that way — some of us admit it, others never would.
I’m with dawn on the drop of liquid thing, I hate that. But I’m surpised that chees is surprised at his ocd. It makes perfect sense to me that you would make sure the sleeve is aligned with the logo in the cup. I may know you better than you know yourself:)
