I am on the verge of wrecking my entire 2008 until the holiday season. I am running half marathons on March 29, May 4 and May 25. And because I am a magnet for cool people who don’t really know me, I have been able to convince folks from around the country to run in the Baltimore Running Festival in October. So far four people are registered for the full marathon, one for the half, a couple for the relay and several more “committed” to registering in the next month or two.
Being the organizer of this shingdig, I’ve had my manhood challenged being told that I should be running the full marathon. I am almost ready to cave in to the peer pressure, and if/when I do, I will have to start training almost immediately after my third half marathon this spring. I’m not looking forward to 14 mile training runs in Baltimore in August.

I am now the owner of an Apple iMac. I have become one of those people. After about a week, I can state that the iMac is… ok. The way people act like Mac ownership is a life-altering experience, I was expecting to plug the machine in and have it start offering me handjobs. That didn’t happen. And there’s really nothing my Mac can do that my Windows machine can’t. And if you’re not willing to buy in to the total Apple lifestyle, with the iPod and Time Capsule and iTunes and all that you simply cannot get the full Mac ownership experience (and you pretty much void everything the Apple remote and Front Row is good for). But the screen is fantastic, iPhoto is great, Dashboard is cool and my kids love goofing around with Photo Booth.
There’s no way I’d be willing to say that I’ll never go back to Windows again though. Anyone who immediately writes off Windows after buying a Mac is someone who hopes and desires to live the life of a sheep.
