Lots Of Babbling

Here’s what I don’t get. If you come home and find something missing, say a television, and you exclaim “what the hell!” in front of your kids it’s perfectly fine. But if you come home and find something missing, say a television, and you exclaim “what the fuck!” you’re committing some sort of aural child abuse. You’re expressing shock over discovering something askew and using “hell” and “fuck” to express it is doing so in the exact same way but with four different letters, yet one combination of letters is acceptable while the other isn’t.

Words are just words. It kills me that people make such a big deal over them.

Also, it’s funny (not ha-ha) that so many people are outraged over the recent assfuckery going on to tax the shit out of people enough in Maryland to make them seriously think about moving somewhere else. I get that we have to pay taxes for some shit, like roads and bridges and schools and whatnot, but we got a big tax hike and on top of that proposals have been made to cover the uninsured for health care (i.e. illegal aliens) with no way to pay for it (until the next huge tax increase). What’s going to happen when I can’t afford to pay for the uninsured anymore and I become one of them? Truth is, I’m too white and too male and too responsible an adult for it to matter to anyone what happens to me if I can’t pay my own way, my family’s, and everyone else’s.

Anyway, O’Governor O’Malley’s approval ratings in Maryland rival George Bush’s, and I can’t find a single person who will admit to voting for him in the last election, but this article about a poll that even the Baltimore Sun can’t skew into a positive for the governor (no matter how hard it tries) attempts to explain away the huge tax increase by saying it was to cover budget shortfalls that “projected” to reach $1.7 billion. So we needed to get bent over a barrel because of an imaginary number. Terrific.

Meanwhile, taxpayers were on the hook for about $300,000 in order to allow the legislature to fuck us during a special session and for $17,000 to send an O’Malley contingent to Ireland for some dumb reason or another. But the people need to sacrifice for the greater good. And the people buy into it when the O’Governor bats his pretty eyes. What’s worse is that by the time re-election season rolls around everyone will forget all about this past year and O’Gov will probably win in a landslide. What a state of dumbfucks I live in.

Ugh, I’m making myself sick.
