In running a 5K race this morning that started and finished at Power Plant Live in Downtown Baltimore and wound through Harbor East and Fells Point I came to the realization that running on blocked off city streets kept clear by police is really very, very cool. So cool that it almost makes me want to do it again, but on a grander scale. Like by running the 13.1 miles of the Baltimore Running Festival 1/2 marathon. Luckily, it’s way too late for me to get in on it this year since that race is next week and there’s a waiting list to be included.
But who knows about next year. All I know is that I’ll never run a full marathon. Ever. $100 says so.
The fact that you blogged you won’t ever run a marathon insures that you will. That hundred dollars is as good as mine. WOOT. September 3, 2010, baby!
Kristine, most likely that would be October 16, 2010.
I’m actually trained up to run a half now. But that’s not to say I’ll be trained up to run one next year or any year ensuing. And a half ain’t no full.
That is okay, you understand your station in life.
That’s right. My station is with the people who still have some semblance of sanity to them when it comes to running. You have to be whacked in the gourd to want to run a full marathon.
Although I will admit to buying a fuel belt the other day to help with what was becoming a serious hydration issue during my long weekend runs. That can’t be a good sign.
kristine - I’m so with you!!!! I know that you will win the bet!!!!
Um, no she won’t.
