Two incidents at the miserable end to a miserable year I call yesterday’s Orioles/Yankees game at Camden Yards illustrate perfectly why I detest Yankees fans.

In the first one, whomever was playing left field for the Orioles (and at this point does it matter who that was?) chased down a ball that was drifting foul. He got into foul territory, but not soon enough, and the ball bounced to the ground just out of his reach. All the Yankees fans in my section — and they were legion — chided him mercilessly as a scrub who should be back in the minors.

Several innings later, after just about all the Yankees regulars had been removed and some scrub was playing left field for them, an identical play occurred with the Yankee (Shelly Duncan) chasing down a foul ball that bounced out of reach. The ONLY difference between the two plays was that Duncan slid trying to catch the ball. Regardless of his theatrics in attempting to make the play he failed.

So what do the douchebag Yankees fans in my section do? They give the guy a standing ovation for trying!

Our guy is a scrub but theirs in a hero when they fail in identical ways. What dicks. It’s so hard to cheer for the Yankees and the Red Sox just because of their asshole fans, I swear.

Therefore, I am throwing my support behind the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim California United States of America to win it all. Mostly because Vladimir Guerrero is awesome and was brilliant in not taking the Orioles’ money when it was thrown at him a few years back.

BTW, it was Freddie Bynum in LF for the Orioles. See, who cares?
