Pee-wee football practice starts tonight. Life is dedicated to that throughout the month of August, until school starts at month’s end. Ergo, summer is over in Cheeseville. Thank god. Now I eagerly await the first snowflakes of the year.

How jews shop:
A terrible story broke locally yesterday about a 44 year-old mother who came home from work at 2:00am to find her 15 year-old daughter dead. She’d been stabbed to death and had her throat slit.
As bad as it was, it was hard to not notice what a piece of West Virginia white trash the mother is. Interestingly, the murdered girl was her only child and not one of many. Also interestingly, the girl’s father is a 78 year-old black man with many other children.
Anyway, the girl’s 19 year-old ex-boyfriend and a 17 year-old family friend are being held on murder charges. I caught a snippet on the local news last night about the case that ellicited the following slightly edited IM chat this morning:
Me: hey, do you watch local TV news?
Not Me: no it upsets me. i wont do it. why do people watch wjz? its the worst station ever. at least bal tries. but still.
Me: when I was a kid, wjz was the best. then the main anchor died and it was never the same.
Not Me: well, that was a long time ago.
Me: shut up.. anyway, that’s all besides the point
Not Me: why’d you ask?
Me: I caught a minute of the news by accident last night before I went to sleep and they were talking to the mother of the girl who got stabbed to death
Me: I really feel for her, but jesus christ what a dumb piece of white trash she is.
Not Me: oh i saw her on the sun. i saw the pics and read her quotes…figured that one out right quick
Me: well, they were talking to her about the suspects and the west virginia was just shining through her reaction.
Not Me: ugh.
Me: one of the suspects was the girl’s 19 year old ex. They dated for over 2 years. the girl was 15 when she died. Who lets their 12 year old daughter date a 16 year old? or 13 y.o. date a 17 y.o.? WTF is the matter with people?
Not Me: that was my thought exactly when i read it.
Not Me: well. not to be insensitive or anything but… that’s survival of the fittest right there. just like the kid who was sitting out on a stoop at 230am & got shot ‘accidentally’.
Not Me: the parents fail on a huge level and thus put their kids at risk.
Me: yeah… and, quite frankly, the girl wasn’t doing much with herself if she had already quit school by 15 and was doing threesomes in the house when moms was at work.
Not Me: yep. quit school in the 9th grade.
Me: not that she deserved to die
Me: but I don’t think we lost a future supreme court justice or anything
Not Me: yep. the city lost a future prostitute
Me: and a couple more kids on the welfare rolls.
Not Me: ugh
Me: although her white trash mother did only have one kid, and she’s 44 so I guess that’s something.
I don’t know what’s worse, that a 15 year-old life was snuffed out, maybe because of something as dumb as bitching about getting nutted in the eye at the end of dirty threesome sex with boys who were too old for her, or that there are people out there who, while sympathetic to the victim and her family, have the attitude that it was probably going to be a wasted life anyway. Cynical fuckers over here, no doubt.
Somehow my blog broke. Neither comments nor archives were working and I have no idea why. I didn’t particularly care because I’m not blogging with much fervor these days, but then there was something I wanted to post today. So I went and backed everything up and after not finding the problem on my own I deleted the blog and reinstalled the latest and greatest version of wordpress. It went well and when I went to test it was still fucked up. And this was even before I tried to import the back-up.
Then I removed it again and reinstalled under www.standingcheese.com and that went ok. So then I imported the back-up, but it fucked everything up because it was all geared to the “cheese” subdomain. So now I have to go through and alter everything that has “cheese.” in the database. I’ll do that eventually if I don’t see some other shiny object to distract me. Anyway, here’s the result for anyone who still reads and/or links here:
- The archives and everything known about this blog is gone, for now, including all BTC membership info (still yet again). BTC posts were only running one a month though so if visitors don’t want to re-sign up still yet again, it’s cool.
- The cheese.standingcheese.com subdomain is no longer the main URL for this blog. www.standingcheese.com is. No worries though, as /cheese redirects to the top level. However, if you subscribe to this blog you’ll need to fix the feed in your aggregator (and chances are you’re not seeing this post anyway, so I guess it was nice knowing you).
- I still want to post what I wanted to post today, so there will be two posts from me today. Just like the old days!
